FAQs
What’s the dress code? We have answered many people individually about this but for those who haven’t chosen their outfit and prefer some guidance (and those who didn’t like our “we don’t care what you wear” response), see below.
Welcome Dinner: Cocktail Casual. Daniel will likely wear casual pants and a shirt that blows in the wind. Anna will wear something reminiscent of a muumuu. Really, anything goes.
Wedding: Cocktail Formal? You’ll see everything from tuxedos and gowns to kilts and kaftans. Please wear what makes you feel good (and hopefully something you want to dance in).
Is there a registry? Yes. Here is the link: https://www.anna-daniel-official.com/registry
Is there parking at Bodega Ridge? Yes. Guests staying at Bodega Ridge (or Cove) will have parking available at their cabins. Bodega Ridge has additional parking for events. Bodega Ridge has EV charging as well. BR map can be found here.
Where are the beaches? See below.
FUN + GROCERIES, ETC
We’ve fallen in love with Galiano Island over the last few years and we hope you get to experience some of its charm during your stay. We’ve made a document of helpful and favourite spots (shhh).
For those staying at Bodega Ridge and Bodega Cove, there will NOT be food and beverage services outside of our wedding events (ie you will not be able to order coffee, food, etc from the lodge). We had hoped their new cafe, Pinky’s, would be open but it seems to be delayed. All cabins have a full kitchen with coffee beans, a kettle, French Press, and a coffee grinder. You WILL be able to purchase off-sales liquor from BR. They have canned beers, bottles of wine, and non-alcoholic beverages (NA Beer, sodas).
LAST BUT NOT LEAST, A BIT OF NAGGING
Please, please do not drink and drive. Galiano has a two-lane, winding road that people walk and bike along. There are also many deer (on that note, please don’t speed!), especially at night. Take it slow and safe and enjoy island time (unless you’re late for our wedding. Kidding! Please do not rush).
There will likely be an extreme fire ban on the island. Charcoal BBQs, bonfires (including beach), and fireplaces may be prohibited. Sparks from cigs and joints can be dangerous in those conditions. If you plan to smoke please have a plan for safe disposal or, better yet, edibles pose no risk! Bodega Ridge is a non-smoking facility.
For those bringing small children to Bodega Ridge (map), please note that there is a duck pond beside the event space. It’s somewhat camouflaged so please orient yourself with it and keep an eye on your babes.
There are no public garbage bins on Galiano and, depending on your accommodations, you may be required to take your trash off the island with you when you leave (most of the gulf islands operate this way). Keep this in mind when adventuring and please “leave no trace” when hiking or enjoying the pristine beaches and forests of Galiano.
